Requiem for Fr. Stephen

On Tuesday 21st September the confreres travelled to the Abbey of Tongerlo in Belgium to assist at the funeral and burial of our dear confrere Fr. Stephen.
A requiem Mass was held at St. Chad’s the following Thursday.

Jubilees

Last week the canonry celebrated the jubilees of two of our confreres. Fr. Michael Gallagher celebrated 50 years of priestly life, having been ordained in 1958 - he was the first Premonstratensian to be ordained in England since the Reformation. Fr. Holywell

On Sunday members of the community were pleased to attend the Latin Mass Society’s Annual pilgrimage to the shrine of St. Winefride in Holywell, Wales. Members of our choir from the First Friday masses accompanied the Mass and were a great success!

Ministry of Acolyte

Papal Vespers

On Saturday 1st December this year our two juniors studying in Rome, Br. Bernard Sudlow O.Praem and Br. Ambrose Barlow Lawler O.Praem has the great privilege of serving Vespers for the Holy Father in St. Peter’s. They are pictured below with other students of the Norbertine Generalate who served at this splendid occasion.

Requiem aeternam dona eis

During November, the month in which the Church particularly asks her children to pray for the faithful departed, the Premonstratensians of Corpus Christi Canonry said Mass in the cemetery chapel for the deceased confrers buried at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Moston.

REQUIEM aeternam dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis. Requiescant in pace. Amen.
