Norbertine Vocations
The Canons Regular of Prémontré were founded by St. Norbert at Prémontré, France in 1120. Basing the lives of his sons and daughters on that of the first apostles of Our Lord, Our Holy Father Norbert bequethed five works to the Order i) the praise of God by the singing of the Divine Office, ii) zeal for the salvation of souls, iii) spreading devotion to Our Lady, especially in Her Immaculate Conception, iv) spreading devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament and v) leading a life of simple penance. Please contact the Vocation Director for more information. The Order first came to Britain in 1138 and at the time of the Reformation had some 38 houses. The Order returned to England in 1872 and our canonry became an independent canonry in 2004. For more information on the life and work of the Norbertine canons of St. Philip's Priory, please seee our web-site; www.praemonstratensis.co.ukPRAYER FOR VOCATIONS TO THE ORDER OF PRÉMONTRÉ
Almighty Father, raise up abundant and holy vocations to the Order of Prémontré. Send us good and holy souls who will keep the Faith alive and guard the blessed memory of Our Holy Fathers Augustine and Norbert. Send us ardent yet gentle men who through the preaching of Christ’s word and the administration of the Sacraments may continually renew your faithful. Grant us holy ministers of your altar who will be careful and fervent guardians of the Eucharist; lifting high the Blessed Sacrament above all the errors and miseries of the world. Amen.Like us on Facebook
