Adunatio 2010

St. Norbert depicted in stained glass at Antwerp

Last week Br. Rupert was able to join other simply professed members of our Order at Adunatio 2010. This meeting provided opportunity for the younger members of our Order to meet and reflect together on Premonstratensian life. The meeting was based at the abbey of Tongerlo in Belgium. There the juniours attended conferences on the priesthood and religious life, together with opportunities to discuss the subjects raised. During the week there were also visits to the abbeys of Averbode and Postel where the canonries provided wonderful hospitality and also a glimpse into their own life and work. The group also visited Antwerp – the site of St. Norbert’s peaching against the heretic Tanchelm and were given a talk on devotion to Our Holy Father in that city. May Our Holy Fathers Augustine and Norbert pray for a continued growth in vocations to our Order and communities so that we may always be able to bear witness to the lives they lived and the teachings they taught.
