I’m dreaming of a White Cappa Magna…

… Just like the ones we used to know!

As Winter sets in, we offer you a couple of glorious photo-graphs to warm the heart.

This is the late great Abbot Pennings O.Praem., who was Abbot of St Norbert Abbey, De Pere, Wisconsin. He is pictured here in his winter cappa magna, looking not only warm but very splendid too.

Abbot Pennings (1861-1955) had a High School named after him, and was a much loved Abbot. He had a great devotion to Saint Joseph, and died at the ripe old age of 93, whispering on his death bed, “Jesus, Mary, Joseph.”

As we admire his photo-graphs, let us remember his soul in our prayers.
