Our Holy Father Norbert was given by the Church the title of ‘Apostle of the Blessed Sacrament’ mainly for his valiant work in stamping out the eucharistic heresy of Tanchelm in Antwerp, and restoring due devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. Since our foundation, drawing on the example of our Holy Founder, our Order has never failed to promote devotion to the Blessed Sacrament over all the errors and miseries of the world. It is in devotion to our Eucharistic Lord and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass that the people of God are drawn closest to Him, and we are proud to serve Him thus.
It is in this spirit that the Prior and community of St Philip’s Priory were glad to lead the first Corpus Christi procession in one of our parishes, Our Lady Immaculate, Chelmsford, in recent memory.
It is a truly wonderful sight to see so many people processing through the heart of the city in adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament. The joy on people’s faces is evident in the pictures, as is the pleasure at being able to give witness to the world that our faith sets us free, our Lord gives us hope, and this hope is to be carried to the four corners of the world.

Praised be the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar and the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary!
